Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson has done his weekly round of Premier League predictions for the BBC, the Match of the Day pundit is forecasting that Saturday's clash between Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa at the DW Stadium will end in a draw, let's take a look at his reasons:
Wigan v Aston Villa
This is a difficult time for Aston Villa. Their manager Alex McLeish is trying to change the way they play and give them a really solid defensive background but they just don't seem to be buying into it.
One reason for that might be they are not that good at the back, and you would probably say the best players in McLeish's team are his forwards.
Villa have taken one point from their last three games and they have to be careful they don't slide into the abyss of a relegation battle, especially as I think it is generally accepted that they are better than that.
You look at the majority of the teams below Villa in the table and you wonder where their goals are going to come from. I don't get that when I look at Villa. Scoring shouldn't be a problem for them with the firepower they have got.
I just feel they might be better if McLeish lets them off the leash a little bit and plays to their strengths. Maybe they are not creating enough chances, because Darren Bent will score if you give him the opportunity. So why don't they go for it?
This is Robbie Keane's last game for Villa before he goes back to Los Angeles Galaxy and he will be missed. At times during his loan spell he has been outstanding, and you would expect to him to see a lot of the ball at the DW Stadium too.
If Wigan can deal with Keane, I'd fancy them to nick a win. The Latics had a great result last time out against Bolton and showed what they are capable of.
They have a habit of playing quite well at home and still getting beaten. That needs to stop, and a point on Saturday would be a good start.
I think we will build on the Bolton result and I forecast a win for the Latics, 2-1
