Chimbonda Commits To Wigan

Pascal Chimbonda has said that he will now be staying at Wigan Athletic for the new season, despite bids from Tottenham Hotspur and Middlesbrough.

Chimbonda told Sky Sports: 'For the moment, I will not be going to either Tottenham or Middlesbrough, I will certainly stay with Wigan.

'As the coach and club have always trusted me, there are no problems between us. My next challenge will be to repeat last season's performances.'

Now you'll see if he was a one season wonder!
rzzn
haha he couldnt get deal at a bigger club so now hes stuck at wigan
ExiL
i wish him well. dont think spurs would pay more than 4.5 mill for him. not sure his worth that anyway. cant see why wigan wanted to hold onto a player that didnt wanna play for them. sure the fans really like him!!! look forward to coming up there for the away game. good luck this season. come on you spurs

Its probably the best thing for Chimbonda, if he can repeat his form from last season he may be worth closer to £6m, but Tottenham were right not to take the risk, they offered what they thought he was worth and no more, fair play to them....

i dont think hes very good hes had one good season and that does not mae him worth 6mil, 4.5mil at most and even that is expensive. well move on thanks. do you really think chimbonda doesnt want to go to spurs or spurs pulled out for chimbonda. mmmm.coys

you almost lost another player in that page banner of yours, I have nothing against wigan however i am quite glad he didnt join as he is a bit of a loose cannon
sexyyid
sour grapes i suppose
maltayid
he is decent but not 6m decent

This is about Dave Whelan (Wigan Chairman) and Willie Makay (Chimbonda's agent) who have had a bit of a tiff. The £6m price tag is designed to ***** Makay off. Makay has already moved Jason Roberts and also unsettled Henri Camera Whelan is not pleased

Still 2 wks to go til transfers end, so lets see what happens! If We increase the offer to around £4.5-5m, Wigan will sell and he'll jump at the chance to leave! Even if he doesnt come now, very interesting to see whether he can produce quality again! I think Wigan should play him, plainly cos he'll play out of his skin to manufacture a move in January and this will just make the bids for him stay at around £5m instead of a heavy drop!

between the lines it says come back in jan
jol ie good
I think it's good that Spur doesnt grab him these day, I am really not sure about his quality, let him prove it for another 3-4 months until Jan then we'll see what to do. Not that late to buy him later if hes worth it 4.5-5 Mils

Anyway you guys it looks as though this long running saga is over for now so lets move on to the next long running saga, I am confident that this time there will be no panic buys on deadline day!!

I was more disappointed with Lucas Neill deciding to stay at Blackburn.

Finally, a player who will forgo a transfer and stay loyal. Time to dig in and move Wigan up the ladder.
