What The Boss Say's - Latics v West Brom

Wigan Athletic face a tough encounter against West Brom tomorrow (Saturday) at the DW Stadium, with our Premier League lives at stake it is a game that firstly we cannot afford to lose, but realistically we should be looking for maximum points and a climb out of the bottom three

Our home form this season though is anything but good, just one win and that coming back in August, it is time to start claiming victories on our turf. West Brom have a couple of key players missing and last time out at Norwich we looked very good, so is tomorrow the turning point in our home form? I hope so

In the build up to the game Latics boss, Roberto Martinez has been speaking about the lack of wins at the DW and how it is important to start getting the home form right, let's take a look at what he say's:

Speaking to Latics Player Martinez said - 'The attitude and commitment of the players is something we can be proud of in the squad; they know what it means to represent Wigan Athletic and in the last four games, not including Swansea, they've been excellent.

'Come Saturday we need to be patient, not allow any anxiety to creep in and perform over the full 95 minutes to get the win I believe the team deserve.'

'West Brom are one of the best away teams in the league, only the two Manchester clubs have better form then them away from home.

'Keith Andrews has given them a good boost since arriving in January, Peter Odemwingie and Marc Antoine-Fortune have formed a good partnership up-front and there are a number of key players like Ben Foster who have been performing consistently throughout the season.

'So it will be tough but we need to concentrate on ourselves and use this opportunity to start picking up as many points as possible at home.

'We have to make sure we force a good performance at the weekend and force a good result, because we deserve much more than what we've taken at home.

'One win here this season is nowhere near good enough, but of the six draws we've managed we deserved four or five wins, which shows how dominant we've been in games here.

'There are five home games left to go and we need to collect the rewards, I believe in football that if you keep showing the right levels you'll balance things up and get what you deserve at the end.

'To help that we need to use the DW Stadium to our advantage and create a hostile environment.

'We've done it before against the likes of Arsenal and West Ham, so we're looking forward to a repeat this season as well.'
