It's Time For Chow



Wigan Athletic youngster Tim Chow has put pen to paper on his first professional contract at the club and the 18 year old Billinge lad is absolutely delighted

A product of the youth system, Chow has been at the Latics since he was nine, said he had a smile from ear to ear after he was given the news by Latics boss Roberto Martinez that a two year contract was on the table for him.

Speaking to the Latics official website Chow said: 'When the Gaffer told me I was buzzing, I had a smile from ear to ear and couldn't wait to tell my Dad - it was a brilliant feeling.

'I was in the canteen after a session and he called me into his office, I thought I was in trouble to be honest but the news was fantastic and I'm delighted.

'I first joined the Club and the Centre of Excellence when I was nine years old and have worked hard to progress through the ranks into the Youth Team and now at Reserve level.

'Since I've been here full-time in the last couple of years my game has come on leaps and bounds, hopefully I can continue that development now.'

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has high hopes for Chow and speaking to the WEP Martinez said: 'Tim has worked incredibly hard for a long time to get this opportunity, and we're looking forward to him writing the next chapter in his career'

'It's an exciting time for the young players here, with so many out on loan gaining invaluable experience, and those like Tim taking big steps towards their future.'
