Lawro Predicts - Latics v Stoke

Lawro Predicts - Latics v Stoke

Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson has done his weekly round of Premier League predictions for the BBC, the Match of the Day pundit is forecasting that Saturday's clash between Wigan Athletic and Stoke City at the DW Stadium will end in a draw, let's take a look at his reasons:

Wigan v Stoke

Wigan had a great win at Liverpool last week, which was fully deserved, but this time they are up against a Stoke team that will pose them a completely different set of problems.

At Anfield, everybody understandably expected Liverpool to win. Now that Wigan have won there, people will think they should beat Stoke, but the Premier League doesn't quite work like that, which is one of its many attractions.

Stoke will make things difficult for the Latics and I find that if Roberto Martinez's side don't start well in games then they tend not to finish them well either.

Because of that, it might be a frustrating day for Wigan because they will be keen to build on that win at Anfield and, in their predicament, they have to make their home games count.

Prediction: 1-1

I disagree Lawro, 2-0 Latics win for me this week, believe
