Latics Legends At Golborne This Friday

Wigan Athletic Legends are set to face Golborne Sports Veterans next Friday (4th May) at Golborne Sports Club, Stone Cross Lane, Golborne, in a benefit game for Abram girl Angela Charles.

Ang is the wife of Golborne Vet's player Ray Charles, she is suffering from the devastating condition Motor Neurone Disease, the proceeds from the game are to go towards the conversation of a room at her home, into a wet room.

Ex-Latics player Kevin Langley is a family friend and approached Ray with the idea of the match, so a massive thanks to Kev

The game will kick-off at 7:00pm and admission is £3 for over 12's, under 12's are free, there will be face painting for the kids and a half-time penalty shoot-out competition for the adults to see if they can beat the 'cat', there will also be a raffle with some Latics memorabilia up for grabs

The Latics Legends team will be packed with famous names from down the years and include:

Roberto Martinez
Graeme Jones
Kevin Langley
Neil Rimmer
David Lowe
Dave McMullan
Peter Atherton
John Robertson
David Glenn
Graham Barrow
Neil Bailey
Stuart Barlow
Bryan Griffiths
Mark Schofield
Andy Ainscough
Mark Lennard

I'm sure you will agree that is a fantastic list of Latics Legends, so make a note in your diary and get down to Golborne Sports club on Friday
