Vote For Your Latics Man Of The Match v Newcastle

What a fantastic performance put in by the lads to get a great win against Newcastle on Saturday, well I say win, it was more like a tonking.

Four excellent goals, all in the first half, saw the Premier League's form side knocked off their mantle by the Premier League's firm side. The Latics to a man were outstanding

From back to front each player played their part, Figgy was excellent and his passing was excellent as he set up some great moves. Caldwell and Alcaraz had Ba and Cisse in their pockets for most of the afternoon, Boycey was great and his cross for the opening goal was quality

The midfield duo of the two Macca's was once again top draw, they harried, they carried, supported attack and defence, tackled, passed and ran all afternoon

Jean Beausejour had another great game on the left side, he's really brought a balance to the side and its obvious why Martinez chased him so hard, up front Moses and Di Santo were fantastic, exciting runs, great goals, battling for and winning lost causes, top, top game from the pair of them

My man of the match though was Shaun Maloney, I thought he ran the game, his passing was simply class, his movement both with and off the ball was sublime, he flicked, dribbled, skipped, feigned, one-two'd and had the Newcastle midfield/defence chasing shadows all afternoon.

His goal was a coolly taken side-footer and he simply passed the ball into the net, he really game into his own in the final third of the game and he was instrumental in the Latics shutting the game down with their fantastic possession football, yes most definitely Shaun Maloney was my man of the match on Saturday
