Shaun Maloney has been voted the Wigan Athletic man of the match by Vital Latics members, for his performance in last Saturdays fantastic win against Newcastle at the DW

Maloney had a superb game, he tormented the Newcastle defence all afternoon with his intelligent play, he scored a great goal and when the name needed killing off he did just that, in the final third of the match Maloney ensured that the Latics simply kept possession of the ball, a fantastic performance from the Scotland international

For the record the voting was:

Shaun Maloney - 50%
