'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What The Bosses Say - Blackburn v Latics

Wigan Athletic travel to Ewood Park on Monday to face Blackburn Rovers in what could be a season defining game for both clubs. A point and surely the Latics could start to celebrate another survival battle won, anything but a win for the Rovers then it'll be Championship football next season for our Lancashire neighbours

In the build up to the game both managers have been speaking to the press, let's take a look at what they've been saying:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez:

'From our point of view we know that the next two games are vital for us. We can't look or rely on elsewhere because in football, when you rely on other results, nine out of 10 don't go your way.

'We understand what we have to do. We need to prepare for the game on Monday and make sure we are refreshed and ready for that. It's not a moment to look elsewhere - it's a moment to look into ourselves and get as many points as we can.

'When we finish the season, then we can start assessing how everything went.'

"We look at the six points we have left to fight for and we will give everything we've got. Both games we've got left are very important. They are both very different and we need to make sure we're as good as we can be.'

Blackburn boss Steve Kean:

'I'm confident we can beat Wigan and take it to the final game at Chelsea.'

'We need to make sure we start the game brighter than the last one. Tottenham had chances particularly in the first few minutes and we got pegged back.

'But we have to improve on that performance as we have another big game against Chelsea coming. We can't perform the way we did against Tottenham as that's unacceptable.'
