Player Of The Season Awards - Wigan Athletic



What a night at the Wigan Athletic Player of the Year Awards dinner, the Vital Latics table was there as always to see the awards dished out, tuck into a four course meal and enjoy a jar or two of fine ale

The evening was underway by 7pm and the awards flew out, a full list below, Gary Caldwell took the evenings big one, the Player Of The Season, whilst Maynor Figueroa landed the Players, Player Of The Season

Shaun Maloney grabbed the Goal Of The Season, which was voted for on the night by the guests attending the evening, for his memorable strike that won the game against Manchester United at the DW, that game was also picked as the Performance Of The Season by Latics boss Roberto Martinez.

Fan Of The Year went to Brian Sabin who has been following the Latics since the 1930's and never misses a game, home or away, Brian received a standing ovation from all those in attendance.

The Away Player of the Season - Ali Al-Habsi
Goal of the Season - Shaun Maloney v Manchester United
Performance of the Season - Win against Manchester United
Outstanding Contribution Award - Emmerson Boyce
Community Achievement Award - Neil Rimmer and Matt Jackson
Young Player of the Season - Tim Chow
Youth Team Player - Ryan Meadows
Fan Of The Season - Brian Sabin
