Where Do The Latics Need To Strengthen?

With the transfer window now officially open, which area of the current Wigan Athletic squad do you believe we need to strengthen?

We have lost players from all positions due to contracts expiring, a striker in Hugo Rodallega, midfield men Momo Diame and Hendry Thomas, defender Steve Gohouri and goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, of course there is also a lot of interest from rival clubs in Victor Moses

The priority for me would be another striker, some may argue that the returning Mauro Boselli from his loan spell at Estudiantes will take care of that, but in my humble opinion, if his last stint in the Premier League is anything to go by then I can't see him breaking any pots next season, I hope I'm proven wrong but I'd certainly have another striker to share the burden with Franco Di Santo as a priority if I was Martinez

Other areas of the team do need strengthening, but we do have cover already in the squad so the urgency wouldn't be as great, if Moses left though, then that would present a new dilemma, here's hoping he stays

So up front for me, but which area do you feel that we most need to bring in a quality recruit for? The new poll on the right side of this page is asking the question which position is a transfer priority for the Latics, to participate in the vote simply access the poll, select your preferred option, then hit the submit button, it's that easy

Defo up front, Di Santo was superb as the season wore on but we need quality back-up in case of injury suspension etc

Yep, striker is a must. However, I do look at our defence and think that we could do with a new right-back. I worried about Boyce a few times last season and I think that if we're going to be playing 3 at the back again this year then more is going to be asked of him.

Boycie has been having a few problems with his hamstring recently, just hope it was one of those things and not due to him getting on, I know my hamstrings are tight!

If Moses does stay and he wanted to leave we may not see him play like he did last season. After Hugo's head was filled with all kinds of glittering new clubs he went off the boil.
