'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Latics Interested Mallorca Star Iván Ramis

Wigan Athletic are being linked with a move for Real Mallorca defender Iván Ramis, the 6' 2' centre back is also attracting attention from Latics Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Sunderland, Swansea City and QPR

According to some reports the Latics have already made a bid for the former Spain under23 international, Mallorca vice-president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, confirmed yesterday that an offer had been received from an un-named Premier League club, he said: 'I've received an offer from the representative of a Premier League club but we are quite far apart', whether that offer was from the Latics or one of the rival clubs chasing Ramis` signature remains to be seen

Ramis himself has been speaking about the interest and he declares that now would be the right time for him to move to the Premier League, Ramis said: 'This could be the ideal moment to make a change and the Premier League is a destination that appeals because I like the football there.

'I want to have more challenges, more dreams, and to play in the English league would be an important step for me. I'd prefer things to be sorted out as soon as possible with regards to whether I'm staying or going.'

We need a good centre back, so Ramis would be a welcomed addition if true
