Conor Sammon Not off To Derby After All

It would appear that Latics striker Conor Sammon is going nowhere despite speculation that he was all set for a loan move to Derby County (made here on Vital!), the big Irishman is all geared up for fighting for his place at the DW Stadium

In an exclusive interview with the Wigan Evening Post Sammon says "I`ve not heard anything about that" when asked about the move to Derby and the Latics striker confirmed his commitment to the team by saying: "As far as I`m concerned, I`m just totally focused on playing for Wigan, trying to break into the team, getting more starts and putting myself in contention.

"In the short term, my goals are to get my head down, get fit as quickly as possible, and trying to kick on."

Looks like Sammon is off the menu in Derby then...note to editor, check sources ;)
