Wigan Athletic Confirm Austria Friendlies

Wigan Athletic have confirmed three friendly games for this week whilst they are in Austria on their preseason training camp

First up is Tuesday 24/07/2012, Latics will face local Austrian side GW Micheldorf in the Cool & Fair Arena with a 7pm kick off, admission €4 for adults, juniors free.

The GW Micheldorf official website bills the clash as: einen absoluten Höhepunkt or as we say in Wigan 'a belter`

Next up is Bulgaria top flight club, PFC Botev Plovdiv, who the Latics will face on Thursday, July 26th, at Pichl bei Wels, Winkelfeld, again a 7pm kick off

Plovdiv have won the Bulgariaan league on two occasions and competed in the European Cup, The Cup Winners Cup and the UEFA Cup

The last game of the tour sees the Latics take on Bundesliga side, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, on Saturday, 28th July at Bad Wimsbach, again a 7pm kick off

Hoffenheim are the German Wigan Athletic, comparisons have been drawn on the way the two clubs have risen through their respective leagues to compete in the top division, showing that little clubs can indeed mix it with the big boys

Progress reports on all the friendlies will be available right here on Vital Latics
