Jermaine Pennant Due For Talks At Wigan Athletic
Wigan Athletic have been given permission by Stoke City to speak to former Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant, though no fee as yet been agreed
The Latics have had a bid turned down for the 29 year old but it is thought that it wasn't too far off what Stoke value him at
The move for Pennant signifies that Victor Moses' move to Chelsea is imminent, Latics boss Roberto Martinez wont want to be caught short and sees Pennant as the ideal replacement
Pennant has had problems in his private life which have been highly publicised, a talented player but he's never seemed able to settle at the clubs he's been at, having disciplinary problems with Birmingham, Liverpool, Zaragoza and Stoke, though the Latics do have a reputation for turning some players around
Pennant is due for talks at the DW Stadium tomorrow (Wednesday), more on this story as it develops
