Wigan Athletic - Moses Gone?

Reports, especially in the Daily Mirror are suggesting that Wigan Athletic and Chelsea have agreed a compromise deal that will see Nigeria international forward Victor Moses leave the DW Stadium and sign in at Stamford Bridge for a fee in the region of £9 million

The Moses saga has ran on for the best part of two months with Chelsea's initial bid, believed to have been around £3 million, described as 'taking the mickey' by Latics owner Dave Whelan, but Roberto Di Matteo was determined to get his man, and with Moses himself apparently declaring he wanted the move, a deal appears to have been worked out

Chelsea play in the Community Shield against Premier League Champions Manchester City tomorrow (Sunday), with no official announcement about the Moses move there will be no chance that he could feature in the Villa Park showpiece season curtain raiser and he'd be more likely to make his debut in first game of the new season, ironically against the Latics at the DW Stadium

If the deal does go through then Latics boss Roberto Martinez will be desperate to get his hands on the money to sort out a replacement for Moses, with Blackpool winger Matt Philips heavily tipped to be the man identified to fill Moses' boots
