Boselli And McManaman Give Bob Reason To Smile

Boselli And McManaman Give Bob Reason To Smile

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that he is very happy with the competition for places that both Mauro Boselli and Callum McManaman are providing, following their good displays for the Under 21 squad against Barnsley on Monday afternoon

The Latics came from being 3 goals down at half time, to draw the game 3-3 with both McManaman (2) and Boselli getting on the scoresheet

With three games in a seven day period, Fulham at the DW on Saturday, then West Ham away in the Capital One cup and a trip to Sunderland the next weekend, it's plain to see that Martinez intends to use some squad rotation

Speaking to Latics Player Martinez said - 'We're going into a busy period, we've got the game against Fulham at the weekend and West Ham in the Capital One cup on Tuesday, before travelling to Sunderland next Saturday

'It's going to be a very busy period, we need everyone fully fit

'It's great to see the desire of Mauro Boselli wanting to play the game with the Under 21's on Monday and obviously Callum McManaman performing very well at that level is very pleasing

'It's good to have that competition in the squad'
