Martinez Fined £10,000 By FA For Telling Truth
Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has been given 10,000 reasons why poor refereeing should be allowed to continue
Following Bobs remarks made about the inconsistency shown by match referee Michael Oliver at Old Trafford in the Latics 4-0 defeat by Manchester United, he has been hit by a stinging 10 grand fine.
Oliver awarded United a penalty that never was after 2 minutes, penalised Latics players all afternoon for the slightest indiscretions, yet allowed some real hair raising challenges made by the home side go unpunished, especially a two footed clattering by Danny Welbeck on Franco Di Santo and Paul Scholes completely cleaning out Shaun Maloney
One rule for the big guys another for us
An FA spokesman confirmed the sanctions in a statement, they said: 'Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has been fined £10,000 after he admitted a charge of misconduct in relation to media comments made after his side's game against Manchester United on September 15.
'The charge was in relation to a breach of FA Rule E3 concerning media comments which implied that the match referee and/or match officials in general are motivated by bias and/or brought the game into disrepute.
'Martinez, who had requested a personal hearing, was also warned as to his future conduct.'
