Wigan Athletic v West Bromwich Albion - The Stats

s

Wigan Athletic face West Bromwich Albion at the DW Stadium this Saturday, the Latics are in a moment of good form, whilst the Baggies have made a cracking start to the season

Down the years there have been some good encounters between the two sides. In the 2003/04 season with both teams chasing promotion to the top flight Latics beat the Baggies at the DW in the September with a Geoff Horsfield goal, unfortunately we lost the return in March at the Hawthorns 2-1, And Liddell putting us in front on 73 minutes only for West Brom to equalise four minutes later with a Lee Hughes penalty, for which Latics keeper John Filan received a red card, then with the last kick of the game Thomas Gaardsoe fired home to win all the points for Albion right at the death.

The Latics and West Brom have met 17 times, Latics have 7 wins, West Brom 6, draws 4

In the Premier League the stats read in Latics favour: 4 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats, goals for 11, against 9
