Lawro Predicts - Latics v West Brom

Mark Lawrenson has done his weekly round of Premier League predictions for the BBC, he is predicting that this weekend's clash between Wigan Athletic and West Brom will end in a home win for the Latics, let's take a look at his reasons:

Wigan v West Brom

Both of these teams are in really good form.

Wigan have just produced two outstanding performances to beat West Ham and Tottenham and someone must have told the Latics players it is February because that is usually when they start playing.

If they keep playing like that then West Brom will not get anywhere near them, but the Latics' inconsistency is still a big issue for boss Roberto Martinez to tackle.

Nobody is disputing the fact the Latics have got good players and are set up in a good system, but they are prone to switching off completely in games which must be so frustrating for Martinez.

West Brom have not won away from home in the league this season, although they should have beaten Newcastle at the end of October.

They had some outstanding chances to win that game at St James' Park so there is maybe a bit of a mental block for the Baggies to get over, which is why I am backing Wigan's euphoria to continue for another week at least.

Prediction: 2-1

I`m also going for a home win, though I think the score line will be 2-0
