Latics entertain West Brom tomorrow (Saturday) at the DW Stadium, both sides have a reputation for playing the game the 'right way'. The Baggies under Steve Clarke have had a great start to the new campaign whilst the Latics have started to recapture the form they showed at the back end of last season
Both managers have been talking to the media about the clash, let's take a look at what they've had to say:
Latics boss Roberto Martinez - 'To get three wins in a row would be a huge achievement in this league'
'We did so in the last three matches of last season against Blackburn, Wolves and Newcastle and it represents a real change of mentality for us.
'It has always been the case that we always reached the last third of the season where we really needed those points to save us. To do so in November would be a real change - rather than having to win it's wanting to win.
'West Brom is as tough a game as you are going to get, they are the in-form team in the Premier League in my eyes'
'They are fifth in the table and they have dropped a few points - conceding a 91st-minute goal against Man City and a late goal against Aston Villa, both games where they deserved more than that.
'They are very well-balanced, have kept much the same group of players together for a long time, and Steve Clarke has brought a new approach and been really successful.'
'The manner in which we achieved the previous two wins - they haven't been accidents or lucky results, they have been deserved wins with very good performances against two good teams.'
West Brom boss Steve Clarke - 'In the last few games Wigan have got back to where they were towards the end of last season when they were the best team in the league.
'They play good football, have a slightly different system to most teams in the league, use it well, play it well, and the players understand their role within the team.
'We go there expecting a difficult game, but I'm sure Wigan are expecting a difficult game as well.
'I would like to think we can both go out there, put on a good footballing performance and try and get the three points.'
