Match Stats - Liverpool v Wigan Athletic

Wigan Athletic travel the 17 miles or so up the East Lancashire Road to Anfield on Saturday, the Latics will face Liverpool for the 17th time, so far it isn't a very impressive record

Of the 16 games played the Latics have two wins, Liverpool nine and there have been five draws, Latics have 12 goals, Liverpool 29

There is however a little light, of the last five games played between the two sides we haven't lost any, two wins and three draws, all in the Premier League. The past ten games have all been a very close affair with just the odd goal deciding the winner, if indeed one side did win.

So a bit of heart for the Latics to take to Anfield this weekend
