Rob Kiernan Moves To Brentford On Loan

Wigan Athletic defender Rob Kiernan has gone out on his second loan spell since the summer, joining League 1 side Brentford, following a successful stint with League 2 outfit Burton Albion earlier in the season

Kiernan joins Uwe Rosler's side as they chase promotion to the Championship and could go into the squad for tomorrow's (Saturday) clash against Preston at Deepdale

Speaking about his move Kiernan say's - 'The move to Burton was good for me. I just went there for a month and played six games. You can`t beat playing games.

'This is the next step for me. Obviously it's a step higher than Burton and I know that Uwe wants to play football and hopefully I can show him what I can do.

'There are a lot of games coming up and the gaffer just pulled me over and said that it'll take time for me to get into the team but there is no rush.

'I am here until January 2 so hopefully I can ease my way into it, get some games under my belt and do well.

'There's no real rush here. I think the manager wants me to get settled first rather than throwing me in. Either way I am more than ready.'
