Roberto Martinez On Ben Watson - Wigan Athletic

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has revealed his concern over the injury to Ben Watson in Saturday's defeat to Liverpool

The midfield man was injured when he collided with Liverpool's Raheem Sterling in what looked a completely innocuous clash, after lengthy treatment on the pitch Watson was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg

Speaking to the Latics official website Martinez said - "The injury to Ben Watson is a really nasty blow and what we believe to be a broken leg.

'We will have to assess the injury and the treatment that Ben will need before we can judge how long he is going to be missing.

'Ben was starting to have a very strong season and was putting in some commanding performances and it is a real shame to lose him to an injury like that.'

Best wishes and a speedy recovery from all Latics fans to Ben Watson, get back soon
