Latics v Man City Previous Meetings

Latics v Man City Previous Meetings

Wigan Athletic and Manchester City have met 22 times in all competitions, the first encounter coming in January 1971 when, as a non-league side, the Latics travelled to Maine Road to face a City side bristling with internationals in the 3rd round of the FA cup. A split boot, sliced goal kick and Colin Bell special conspired to see City beat the Latics 1-0

In the meetings that followed City have had the better of things, though for a while we had the advantage in the Premier League with just one defeat in nine games, but we are now on a run of five straight defeats against them, time to stop the rot!

The complete record is:

Latics 6 wins, City 11, draws 5

In the Premier League - Latics 5 wins, City 6, draws 3
