Walk 96 Will Be At The DW On Saturday

A group of Liverpool fans are walking from Hillsborough to Anfield this weekend and they will be calling at the DW Stadium on their way through Wigan

The group, organised by Liverpool supporter Mike Wilson, who was at Hillsborough in the Leppings Lane end on that terrible day back in 1989, are hoping to raise money for the Hillsborough Family Support Group and Hillsborough Justice Campaign

Along with Mike, former Latics loanee Neil Mellor is involved and ex-Widnes RLFC scrum half Bobby Goulding is also joining in on one of the legs of the walk.

The calculated distance of the walk is appropriately 96 miles and will start at the Hillsborough Leppings Lane end on Friday, December 14th at 7.15am, ending at the Hillsborough Memorial at Anfield on Saturday afternoon prior to Liverpool's home fixture with Aston Villa

In order to make the journey extend to 96 miles the group will visit the grounds of Huddersfield, Oldham, Man City, Bury, Bolton, Wigan and Everton en route, they will be at the DW Stadium at 6am on Saturday morning where they will have breakfast before setting off up through Billinge, onto Knowsley and then Goodison Park.

Mike say's - 'The level of support from ordinary people has been utterly humbling. We never cease to be amazed at the strength of feeling and support for the families who have endured so much and remained determined.'
