Norwich v Latics Injury Update & Early Team News

Latics injury crisis hasn't eased too much, James McArthur is once again looking match fit and Shaun Maloney should be ready for a recall. Still missing through injury are Antolin Alcaraz, Gary Caldwell, Ivan Ramis, Albert Crusat, Ryo Miyaichi and Ben Watson.

There is a small amount of good news on the defensive front, Maynor Figueroa is available again following his one match ban for the unfortunate sending off up at Newcastle.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez gave an update on the injured players to the clubs official website: 'It's very unlikely that anyone will return this weekend; the majority of injuries we're dealing with are not long-term but we do have to be careful not to rush players back and risk those injuries getting worse.

'The likes of Ivan Ramis and Gary Caldwell are not far off now but they're still not quite there yet in terms of being able to make a return.

'After that we have four players who'll still be missing for a longer period of time; Albert Crusat, Ben Watson, Ryo Miyaichi and Antolin Alcaraz who himself is recovering well and could return by the end of the month.

'The good news though is that Maynor Figueroa will return after his suspension and he's used this week really positively to get himself into a good moment of form.'

Latics possible starting line up - Al Habsi, Boyce, Lopez, Figueroa, Stam, Beausejour, McCarthy, McArthur, Maloney, Di Santo, Kone

A bit unfortunate on both Jordi Gomez and Dave Jones who have shown good form of late, but McArthur and Maloney are just too key to leave out

Norwich have one or two injury concerns of their own, John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Andrew Surman are definitey out, Harry Kane is training again after breaking his foot, whilst Steven Whittaker is rated 50/50.

Alext Tettey and Wes Hoolahan have both recovered from knocks that kept them out of the midweek Capital One cup defeat to Aston Villa and should be back in contention.

Norwich from - Bunn, Martin, Whittaker, Bassong, Garrido, Johnson, Snodgrass, Howson, Holt, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Morison, Fox, Tierney, Bennett, Jackson, Barnett

The latest PWU podcast is now available from most good record stores, do they still have them? I remember Roy Hurst Records in the old Market Hall, Javelin in the New Precinct, Rumbelows also sold records (where Subway is) and Debenhams had a record section, Russ Winstanley also had his import shop in Hallgate, but I digress

This week's edition looks back at the QPR game, how on earth did we not win that! There is also discussion about potential new signing Ferrie Bodde, Phil Dowd receiving abuse even though he did ok and we look forward to the Norwich game. We! I almost forgot, it's the usual rabble of Dan, Rob, Gareth, Paul and Barry, the action is recorded at the Beech Hill Book Cycle on Buckley Street
