This weeks Wigan Evening Post 12th Man feature saw just one contribution make the cut from Vital Latics:
The Week That Summed Up The Season
This last week has seen a repeat of the same old frustrating story of the whole season. It was two steps forward and then one back. We`ve had a couple of decent results, and then the season ending injury for Ivan Ramis. Without that injury it would represent a reasonable week of progress. A decent performance (in the second half) away to Fulham, and getting to the next round of the cup, showed that despite the bad luck, we`re clearly still prepared to fight with our lives for every game and every point.
We now stand on the brink of some potential momentum. The next few games represent the opportunity to pick up a few points and remain in the F.A. Cup. The scary part is that every time we feel like we might be getting somewhere, is exactly when things have gone wrong. I just hope that our luck changes and we don`t see any more setbacks, and steadily climb away from danger like we have been trying to do all season.
The positive side to the frustrating season, is that because we are lower down the division than we should be, people are not really taking notice of us what is going right yet. The vultures of the transfer window appear to be at least quiet, if they are circling at all. We`re way ahead of last season, and ahead of the one before, and yet still we haven`t been appropriately rewarded for our performances, hopefully this means good times are close by.
