Lawro Predicts - Stoke v Latics

The Latics travel to Stoke for a midweek Premier League game and BBC pundit, Mark Lawrenson has done his usual round of predictions ahead of the game, he is forecasting an away win for the Latics, let's take a look at his reasons for this:

Stoke v Wigan

Stoke's home form has slipped just recently and they are in a poor run of form generally at the moment but it is still a difficult away trip for Wigan.

They won there on the last day of the season a couple of years ago and it kept them up, but they are also on a bad run.

I just sense Wigan can turn the corner with a win after beating Macclesfield in the FA Cup at the weekend. They won't panic because they have been in relegation battles before and they have great belief. They are one of those teams capable of going on a run as we have seen before.

It looks like being a Groundhog Day season for them once again. I said on Match of the Day a few weeks ago that the Latics don't start playing until the clocks go forward. Still they need to be careful - that might end up being too late this year.

Lawro's prediction: 1-2

A bit optimistic there Lawro, I'll go for a 1-1
