Roberto Martinez Wary Of Chelsea Backlash

This weekend sees the Latics travel to West London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

The Blues have recently been knocked out of the Capital One cup at the semi final stage, been held by League One side Brentford in the FA cup, went two goals up away at Reading only to be pegged back to 2-2 in the closing stages of the game and lost last weekend away at Newcastle, poor form for a team of Chelsea's calibre and Latics boss Roberto Martinez is worried about a possibly backlash on Saturday

Speaking to the clubs official website Martinez said - 'It's an important game for us, in a period of the season when we can't afford to worry about who we're playing, but make sure we're as good as we can be in order to take positive results - that's the challenge we're looking forward to most.

'However, I would say that if ever there was a bad time to play this Chelsea side it is now; on the back of a couple of negative results wanting a reaction at their home.

'Last season we performed really well at Stamford Bridge when there was real pressure on us and were very unfortunate not to come away with a result.'
