Mark Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is forecasting that the FA cup 6th round tie between Everton and the Latics will end in a home win for the Toffees, let's take a look at his reasons:
Everton v Wigan (FA Cup sixth round, 12:45pm)
I don't think winning the FA Cup or qualifying for Europe is an overriding factor for Everton manager David Moyes when he decides whether to extend his stay at Goodison Park.
He's just waiting for his contract to finish this summer and he will then see which direction the club are going. There might even be a big job going somewhere else.
This tie might be a bit of a banana skin for his side, depending on what sort of XI Latics manager Roberto Martinez puts out.
Staying in the league is paramount for Wigan - they are currently level on points with Villa in 17th - but having said that, they are only one game away from playing at Wembley in the semis.
I'm sure Latics chairman Dave Whelan would like to see the club at the grand stadium, so I think it'll be a strong starting XI.
This match is more of a welcome distraction than a hindrance for Wigan. They should be able to balance a cup run with fixtures in the league - it's not like they're playing three times a week.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0
I'm a little more optimistic about our chances than Lawro, though I think we'll need a replay to get through to the semi's, I'll go for a 1-1 draw on Saturday
