Previous Meetings - Latics v Spurs

The Latics never crossed swords with Spurs until we won promotion to the Premier League in 2005, our first meeting was at the then named JJB Stadium on the 26th November 2005

A Latics eleven game unbeaten run (10 wins) had been broken the week before when Arsenal won a classic at the JJB 3-2, now the Gunners North London rivals were in town and Paul Jewell wanted to get back to winning ways with 2nd placed Latics, yes 2nd placed, chasing Champions League qualification!

Unfortunately the game ended 2-1 in Spurs favour with goals from Robbie Keane (8 mins), Edgar Davids (77 mins) with Lee McCulloch (88 mins) replying for the Latics

The teams:

Latics Pollitt, Chimbonda, Henchoz, De Zeeuw, Baines, Bullard, Francis, Kavanagh, Camara, McCulloch, Roberts

Spurs Robinson, Dawson, Stalteri, King, Lee, Davids, Tainio, Jenas, Carrick, Keane, Mido

Latics and Spurs have met 17 times, 16 of which have come in the Premier League, the other one in the third round of the FA cup

Latics 3 wins, Spurs 8, draws 6
