Doncaster snap up Filan

Doncaster snap up Filan

After tussling with Mike Pollitt for the number one jersey last season, Filan has found himself third choice 'keeper. Mike Pollitt is understudy to summer signing Chris Kirkland who has impressed early on in his Wigan career.

Even if Kirkland got injured, it is likely Filan would only find himself promoted to the bench, with Pollitt replacing the England international.

With that in mind, Paul Jewell has decided to loan out Filan to keep his fitness sharp and has agreed a deal with Doncaster, with Filan going straight into the Rover's squad to face Oldham Athletic tonight.

Good look to John and Doncaster. Nobody likes Oldham.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.
