Uwe Rosler Bookies Favourite For Latics Job

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler is the latest name to be linked with the Wigan Athletic managers position, following the departure of Owen Coyle last Sunday, he is currently odds on favourite with the bookies

The former Manchester City striker has managed in Norway at Lillestrom (04-06), Viking (06-09), Molde (10), before moving to Brentford in 2011 and gained a good reputation along the way for playing good attractive football

Brentford were very unfortunate not to win the League 1 title last season, in the final league game against Doncaster they had a last minute penalty kick which, if converted would have given them the title, unfortunately the spot kick smacked the bar, Doncaster raced forward and scored a goal which then condemned the Bees to the play-offs, they lost in the final at Wembley against Yeovil

Rosler is highly regarded in the game, he lives in Stockport, just 20 miles from Wigan and gets his teams to play the right way, we could do a lot worse

I'd be happy with him
It could be a promising appointment. I can't get too excited about any appointment to be honest because sometimes things just don't work out for someone even when they are a good manager and also because whoever takes over is going to face just as tough a job as Owen Coyle did: a packed fixture list, injuries to key players, some top quality players out of form, trying to get so many new players to gel as a team etc. etc But whoever takes over will have my support particularly if he tries to get us playing modern football with plenty passing and movement.

I mentioned him before coyle was offered the job, if only DW had listened to mr ! :)
