What The Bosses Say - Derby v Latics

Latics face Derby County on New Year's Day for the second time in a month, a lot has happened though since that fateful meeting at the DW Stadium on the 30th November, following the spanking handed out by the Rams that day we have changed managers and changed our style of play

In the build up to the game both bosses have spoke to the media, let's take a look at what they had to say:

Latics boss Uwe Rosler - 'They are playing well - there is no question about that'

'They have got plenty of momentum behind them, but we also have momentum after some good results recently.

'Our confidence levels are getting higher game by game, and the boys were disappointed at only drawing against Burnley.

'They felt they had been the better team, the stronger team, and when you feel that way against the second-best team in the league then you believe you can do that week in, week out. '

'The Championship is unforgiving - you have to put everything you have in every single game'

'But I feel we have enough quality to get something at Derby, without question.

'The biggest problem we have is being able to recover in time, but I also see improvement in that respect.'

Derby boss Steve McClaren - 'Wigan will be a different proposition compared to a month ago.

'Uwe Rosler has got them playing football and they're organised, which has been backed up by the fact they've kept two clean sheets in a row over Christmas.

'As I said a few weeks ago, Wigan have a very good squad with Premier League talent throughout it.

'This will be another big test for the players and now we're where we are in the table, it's another challenge for them to stay up there.

'We've ended 2013 on a high and we want to start 2014 in the same fashion.'
