Any Previous? - Cardiff City v Latics

Latics travel to the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday to face Premier League club Cardiff City in the FA Cup 5th round and it will be the first meeting between the two sides since April 9th 2005, when a goal apiece from Jason Roberts and Alan Mahon gave the Latics a 2-0 away win at Ninian Park.

The clubs have met a total of 22 times, Latics have 9 wins, Cardiff 4, draws 9

The two clubs first met back in 1982 in the old Division Three, with the Latics losing that encounter 3-2. All the previous meetings have been in the league and all but four came in one of the bottom two divisions. Three of the four defeats for the Latics happened in Cardiff, but you need to go back to 1997 for the last defeat, which was at Springfield Park.
