Latics v Sheff Weds Fixture Change

Latics v Sheff Weds Fixture Change

Due to Latics trip to the Etihad Stadium for their 6th round FA cup tie against last seasons beaten finalists Manchester City being put back to Sunday 9th March at 4pm, so that it can be televised by BT Sports, subsequently the game scheduled against Sheffield Wednesday for the following Tuesday has now been put back 24 hours to Wednesday 12th March.

The important Championship fixture being moved a day will allow the Latics a slightly less hectic schedule and more preparation time.

It's good to see our game as been moved back 24hrs but if it hadn't we would of just got on with it. All I see is Moan city moaning about having no preparation time for there game 3 days after. We play Brighton on Saturday and they have a game Monday and they aren't moaning as much as city are.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
