What The Bosses Say - Latics v Leicester




Latics face Leicester at the DW Stadium tonight and prior to the game both bosses have spoken to the media, let's take a look at what they have to say:

Latics boss Uwe Rösler - 'We have put ourselves, at the beginning of April, in a really good position but now we should not make the mistake of trying to defend our position'

'I think this is a bonus game for us, the game in hand. It is a game where we can increase the gap between us and our competitors .

'I desperately want to get something out of the game.

'In the position we are in, and how tight this league is, we have to make sure we are in the top six. That is the priority.'

'Leicester are on a long unbeaten run and will come not wanting to give that up easily.

'They want to win the league. It is not about winning promotion any more - they are already promoted.

'But it will be a very good contest. I think we have more than enough to give them a really good game.'

'At Bolton we had the best crowd I experienced - noisy, big numbers. They were supportive even when we didn't play well for periods'

'It was good to end the game on a positive and now the numbers will come again against Leicester and Leeds.'



Leicester boss Nigel Pearson - 'I said before Burnley I would be utilising the squad during this period'

'That will probably be the case (at Wigan). I will see how the players who played on Saturday are looking and we will pick a side we feel can go there and win.

'Because we play Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening, it takes away a recovery day.

'We have had an unchanged side for six games. It goes without saying there are a lot of players who have played a lot of football and quite a few who haven't played much at all.

'It is a case of striking the balance. I have every faith in all the squad, all the players, and I don't feel any changes we make will weaken us.

'We have a group of players who play with confidence and, whichever side takes the field against Wigan, I expect them to maintain the standards we have set.'
