The season may have finished less than one week ago, but already the rumours about player movements, both in and out of the Latics are starting to circulate, let's have a look at some of the ones doing the rounds:
One Their Way Out?
Jordi Gomez - Apparently in talks with Bundesliga club Schalke 04 about a move to Germany, Gomez is available on a free with his contract due to expire on the 30th June.
There is also talk of a possible move to Aston Villa, his lack of cost would suit Villa's budget.
Jean Beausejour - The Chile international is another out of contract player, it does look likely that he will move on to pastures new, Everton have been touted in the rumour columns as possible suitors, whether there is any truth there, or lazy journo's using the Martinez connection remains to be seen.
James McArthur - Early last week the newspapers were rife with stories of Burnley putting together a bid to tempt the Latics to part ways with James McArthur, apparently Sean Dyche is a big fan and hopes the lure of Premier League football will be enough to see McArthur move across to East Lancashire.
McArthur is due to get married next weekend, hopefully that will be enough trauma for one summer and keep the former Hamilton man at the Latics for one more season at least.
James McClean - Championship rivals Leeds United are keen on taking the Republic of Ireland international to Elland Road if reports are to be believed, the 23 year old only joined the Latics last summer and Uwe Rösler appears to like his work rate and pace, it would need to be a big bid to tempt the Latics to part with the former Derry City man.
Callum McManaman - Once again Everton have been linked with a move for McManaman, who is undoubtedly the Latics prize asset, he has had a season blighted by niggling injuries and is understood to be very happy at the club, I can't see McManaman going anywhere for one more season at least.
On Their Way In?
Aaron Taylor-Sinclair - The Partick Thistle left back is, according to some rumour outlets, already in talks with the Latics, at 23 and out of contract the former Celtic target wouldn't cost a fee but we'd have to wait until July 1st to sign him, similar to Thomas Rogne last season, Partick manager Alan Archibald told the BBC - 'He (Taylor-Sinclair) has stated that he wants to go and play down south'.
This could be happening.
Jimmy Husband - Doncaster Rovers 20 year old left wing back, highly rated and been mentioned in more than one outlet that we are preparing a bid, wait and see on this one.
Lee Gregory - Halifax Town striker Lee Gregory has been scouted by the Latics, a bid of £75,000 from Bradford was turned down in January and the Shaymen are looking for around £200,000 for their 30 goal leading scorer.
A host of sides are believed to be trailing the hit man, including the Latics, Derby, Huddersfield, MK Dons, Cardiff plus Serie A clubs Chievo and Catania.
£200,000, surely worth a gamble.
