Latics Transfer Rumours And Goss - 15/06/14

With the media attention on the World Cup there hasn't been too much to get excited about in the way of gossip and rumours where the Latics have been concerned for the past week and a bit, but there has been a little.

Incomings

23 year old Dundee centre back Declan Gallagher has been mentioned in some quarters as ready to join, he is out of contract at Dens Park and already rejected three new offers, he was the main stay of a very good Dundee defence that conceded just 23 goals in 36 league games last season, and at 6' 5 he is a big presence on the pitch.

Rapid Vienna and USA international Terrence Boyd could be on the verge of joining the Latics if reports in Austria are to be believed. We have apparently bid for the free scoring striker, who has just one year left on his current deal, Rösler is understood to be impressed with Boyd's all round play and work rate, as well as his goalscoring prowess.

Spurs midfield man Alex Pritchard is still being touted as a possible loan signing, a yearlong deal could be in the offing for the 21 year old who impressed at Swindon last campaign.

Outgoings

Latics have lost the services of midfield man Danny Redmond who rejected an offer from the club and signed for newly promoted SPL side Hamilton Academicals, Redmond spent time on loan at New Douglas Park back in 2012 and jumped at the chance to link back up again with the Accies.

Barnsley and Blackpool are both reportedly interested in taking out of contract left back Stephen Crainey following his release by the Latics, Blackpool are of course his former club, but according to reports Barnsley are the favourites for the one time Scotland internationals signature.

Contract Negotiations

No word on whether Gary Caldwell is due to sign a new deal, apparently he has been offered a reduced terms contract and is mulling over the proposal.

So not much goss to report on at the moment, the squad are due back off their holidays on 30th June, two weeks this Monday, so expect a bit of movement and a lot more rumours in the coming week or so.
