Vital Latics World Cup Prediction League Update

This world cup is fast becoming the most entertaining any of us has ever seen and much of the credit for that goes to the smaller nations, the competition underdogs, by heck are they giving it a go, the big boys just can't 'turn up' anymore, they're being made to work.

I would like to take you back to Sunday, 14th August 2005, a little underdog team was embedded into the hearts of the nation by giving the champions and one of the best sides in the world a right going over, sadly like today a 'worldie' from a world class Argentinean striker broke the hearts of the underdog, that day nearly nine years ago it was Hernan Crespo for Chelsea against the Latics, today it was the best player I have ever seen Messi against Iran, just like us that day, Iran should stick their chests out with pride, because they were awesome.

Keeping on with the entertainment brief Germany and Ghana served us up a cracker, especially the second half, it could have gone either way, the stamina and fitness of both sides in the intense afternoon heat of Fortaleza was amazing, in case you didn't know this city is only 250 miles from the Equator.

Twenty eight games after his opening day seven pointer Marksparko finally got another, he got the Argentina - Iran score spot on, this was the only one today, well done Mark, that means there was no significant movement on the leader board and it stayed much of a much, although as he stated Lazysid's weekend away meant he didn't manage to post any scores and stopped his rise for now.

The Vital Latics World Cup Predictor Leader Board 22/06/14:

"After finding myself in the relegation places early doors, I am wallowing in the comfort of mid-table mediocrity"
