The Latest Latics Transfer Gossip - 22/06/14

This weeks gossip columns haven't been too full of Latics related stories, one or two to check out, but on the main very quiet:

Terrence Boyd - reports in Austria still have us linked strongly with the Raid Vienna striker, some suggesting that a fee of around €2m being agreed and that we are waiting for Boyd to return from holiday before flying him over for a medical this week.

The 23 year old looks a good prospect and with just a week to go before preseason training starts we should see some development sooner rather than later if indeed the rumours are true.

Lukas Jutkiewicz - the Wigan Evening Post reported during the week that we are interested in the Middlesbrough forward, it's not like the WEP to release names without there being some truth in the story, so I'd take this one has being fairly accurate.

The 25 year old played 20 games for Bolton on loan last campaign and actually scored against us at the Reebok. Derby, Wolves and Bolton are also reportedly chasing Jutkiewicz who will cost in the region of £1m, but a scoring rate of one goal every seven games doesn't exactly get the heart rate banging.

Chris Humphrey - Sky Sports News were reporting early last week that ourselves, along with Burnley and Leeds, were keeping tabs on the Preston wide man. The Jamaica international had a great season in League 1 last time out, having moved to Deepdale from the SPL with Motherwell, making 42 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

Grant Holt - there were rumours flying around social media last week that the Latics striker was on his way back to Norwich, just twelve months after making the move north, a couple of betting sites were also cutting the odds down on the 32 year old being a Canary rather than a Latic come the start of the season, we shall see.

As always Vital Latics will bring you all the latest Latics transfer news, gossip and rumours as we head through this close season, keep tuned folks!

We should see some inward movement this week...I seem to say that every week!
