Latics And Brentford Could Move For McAleny

The Latics, along with Championship rivals Brentford, are being linked with a move for Everton striker Conor McAleny, who was signed on a yearlong loan deal last summer by Uwe Rösler whilst he was in charge at Griffin Park.

The 21 year old striker suffered a broken leg last August putting an end to his loan move at Brentford after just four games, though Rösler's successor Mark Warburton did try to re-sign McAleny in March, but the player opted to stay at Everton to continue his rehabilitation.

McAleny is available as his current deal at Goodison Park has expired, he hasn't as yet signed the new offer that's been put forward leaving the way open for both the Latics and Brentford to register their interest with his representatives.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
