Burnley Submit £5 Million Bid For James McArthur

It is being reported by several media outlets that Premier League new boys Burnley have returned with an improved offer for Latics and Scotland international midfield man James McArthur.

The Daily Mail claim that a bid of £4 million was turned down last week, but an improved offer of £5 million is now on the table for the 26 year old. McArthur though is pivotal to Uwe Rösler's plans this season as he plots to get the Latics promoted despite a slow start to the new campaign, the industrious midfielder has over 125 appearances under his belt for the Latics and is regarded as one of our better players and future club captain.

The 15 times capped Scotland international joined the Latics in 2010, signing from Scottish side Hamilton Academical for £500,000, he was in the team that beat Manchester City to win the FA cup at Wembley in May 2013 ensuring his place in Latics folklore, it will be a sad day if McArthur does leave for Turf Moor, but the pull of the Premier League is massive and £5 million is probably a fair price, we'll wait and see on this one.

Hope he stays, but wouldn't be surprised if he goes for £5m
