'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tottenham Reaction

Paul Jewell

It was quite a scrappy game, and then we got a goal in front and we looked quite comfortable but then we had to sucker punches just before half-time and we never really recovered from that.
I'm not going to blame injuries for those two goals, but as a team I just think we dropped off and at this level you need maximum concentration otherwise you are punished.

We weren't punished once, but we were punished twice which was really disappointing. We tried to pick them up for the second half, and we got a reaction and they tried hard but we never really made any clear-cut chances and we were chasing the game.

I agree with you rushdenspur they were two quality goals.
anil60
good to see lennon score again too as he missed a few earlier in the season

Wigan were second best by a country mile! Also by far the worst away support ive seen at WHL all season, Inclusing slavia prague Tut!

mate they were two fantastic goals, the lead up to them was good while the tricks and finishes involved were sublime.

2 quality goals but I don't think you can fault the away support, ok they wasn't as vocal as I would expect but they were far better than the so called chelsea fans

Now wonder wigan lose when they there players are having to perform in front of about 100 fans, didnt even notice them the whole game and could hardly see them until chimbonda went across to mock them, by far the worst support in years, port vale even sold out the away end!!
yidrob
Two sucker punches? Get real, Paul. They were two brilliant individual goals.

I like Paul Jewell - he refuses to accept his rightful place in the hierarchy of football and always talks as if Wigan is a serious football club. He is especially bitter about Spurs, probably because Chimbonda decided he needed to play at a real football club. Almost died laughing when their chairman said last week he feared losing Jewell to one of the top four clubs. I don't think so! We've played them three times now and they are still trying manfully for a win. Very plucky, but they're just not in the same league as us, are they?
Shannon
they had a good season last year but we will see if they can sustain it this season, as for jewell hardly a top four coach!
rushdenspur
You have Roberts, Chimbonda and Bullard in your banner-at least you waved goodbye on your way out of the Lane after Lennon banged in the third. Heskeys elbow on Dawson was a disgrace but it was good to see Dawson put him on his arse 5 minutes later!
