'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jewell not a Happy Bunny

Paul Jewell was not happy with the attitude of the players after Wigan Athletic went 4-1 up against Manchester City.

'The game should have been over at 4-1, but we started playing 'ole' football and that really annoyed me. It just shows you cannot take your foot off the gas at this level because if you do then you can get punished, as we almost were. We started to do the wrong things in the wrong areas and nearly paid the price. You can't take liberties in the Premier League. With a few minutes to go, if we have to make the game ugly then we will make it ugly. Okay we have won, and at this time of year people will think I am being a Scrooge, but it should have been more comfortable than it was at the end.'
