Tekke bid due

Tekke bid due

The Latics made a £2 million bid in the summer that was turned down by Trabzonspor but could make a higher offer in January.

Jewell has been tracking Tekke for a while and recently flew to Turkey with Dave Whelan to check him out again.

There are reports that we might also bid for Trabzonspor midfielder Huseyin Cimsir as well in a double move.

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp and Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce are also believed to be interested in Tekke, but as with Scharner, he is more likely to want to join a proper club like Wigan who are going to be in the Premiership next season.
