Jewell Losing Camara Battle

The Latics are losing the battle to keep Henri Camara at Wigan Athletic for the FA Cup tie against Leeds United and the Carling Cup 1st leg against Arsenal. Camara last game is now likely to be against Birmingham City on Monday.

Senegal want their players released on the 5th of January, 10 days before the African Nations Cup tournament begins and he could be missing for 6 weeks, depending on the progress of Senegal in the competition.

Jewell said 'We are trying to see if they will relax the rules and allow him to stay for one more game, but we don't hold out too much hope. The African Nations is a bit of an irritant, but I'm not going to moan about it because I knew the situation when we signed him. We are still looking at all avenues, and if we can do something we will, but if we can't then we can't.'
