'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sunday, Bloody Sunday

I knew, in my heart of hearts, that we would lose at Anfield.

Apart from Jewell`s constant reminders that any thing that we get from the big four are bonuses, Liverpool are a class, or two, above us, but that shouldn`t stop us having a go.

Yesterday`s performance was gutless.

We are in a position where we need to fight, Sheffield United lead by example in this department. Where was the fight yesterday?

Surely we should be getting amongst them, in their faces, needling the opposition.

It`s all well and good having a five man midfield, but they should be `up for it`, not just lining up and allowing the opposition to play like they did with Liverpool yesterday.

I feel depressed to day because I saw a glimmer of hope last week, an urgency to get about the pitch, which, was sadly missing at Anfield.

Now there is next week to look forward to, West Ham always beat us at the JJB, let`s put an end to this, a victory against the Hammers will surely be enough to keep the Latics in the Premiership for another season.

They are dodgy at the back and have been riding their luck over the past few weeks, apart from the Chelsea game, they need to win the game more than us and they will feel that they can, so we can expect an open game.

We need leaders on the park, there should be enough in the team with Jackson, DeZeeuw and Scharner, it`s time to earn your crust boys, lead by example and lets get into the Hammers.

Here`s hoping that this time next week it`s not Sunday, Bloody Sunday again.
