'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mass Clear Out

Latics chairman Dave Whelan told the Wigan Observer that there will be changes in the playing staff regardless of which division the club is in next season.

If, and it is a big if, the Latics manage to hold onto their Premier League status then the chairman promises that Paul Jewell will have £20 million to spend on new players in the summer, we`ve heard this one before somewhere.

If we go down then obviously there will be members of the squad who will want a move away from the club believing that the Championship is beneath them, even though they got us there.

It is rumoured that Henri Camara is set to sign with PSG having already agreed terms.

Lee McCullough will more than likely be off to his native Scotland with his boyhood favourites Rangers likely to get his signature.

Whelan claims that Jewell`s been disappointed with two or three of his signings this season, that could be an understatement, so there is likely to be movement on that front.

Several of the older guard are out of contract at the end of the season; most are past their sell by date.

If we do go down then we need to re-group and build around the young ones, Taylor, Cotterill etc, if we do manage to stay up then we need some real quality brought in to ensure that next season life is not so tense.
